Marriage, sex, politics, homosexuality, transgender, republican or democrat, Christian or other?

The truth is, truth is polarizing.

If you are like millions of Americans who are filled with anxiety as to where politics is taking us as a culture and as a nation, you are not alone. Let me give you three simple principles to stand on that may give you hope and clarity.

The wisdom that comes from the world is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic (James 3:15). It’s tempting to follow the advice of worldly wisdom because many times it seems to make sense—at least from man’s point of view. Yet the world’s wisdom only leads down the road of disappointment, regret, and pain. In contrast the wisdom of God brings us peace and direction for our lives.

Let me explain. Experts studied why Rome fell to ruins along with other kingdoms and they found some very profound truths as to the reasons.

Here are a few.

Government Greed | Lawlessness | Government Polarization | Conservative Traditional Values Vanished   Moral Decline | Democracy Turned Corrupt | Military Weakness | Anti-Christian Principles

What does this mean? How can we unpack this in tangible ways? In short, when a nation’s government grows beyond it’s healthy occupancy it becomes so top heavy it’s a financial burden beyond remedy. It becomes the very problem it’s trying to solve but, who is going to fire themselves for the good of the people?

Secondly, greedy, corrupted, self, pleasure mongers, entitled, moral foggy people and non-conservatives who turn away from Judaeo Christian truths, create a culture that is dangerous. We put ‘our pleasure’ before our future. We ignore the cost of what we want and simply demand those pleasures be made available to us and everyone else. Lawlessness then ensues along with all kinds of lifestyles and choices that come at a cost nobody seems to care about. The MAINSTREAM will always take us down a path that is focused on ‘self’ rather than truth with no regard to consequences. It’s what I call “the ‘dark’ side of democracy”. Democracy works great when the moral fiber of the majority is based on truth and righteousness. When there is a shift in the majority to the un-righteous, the same democracy that made us great becomes our worst enemy.

Here is another way to look at it. If we let 100 children get up every day and do what they wanted, eat what they want, buy what they want and act out any ‘desire’ they wanted, what would we have?

That’s where we are as a nation. I see the mainstream taking us to a place where “If it feels good, do it”. I see them fighting every conservative position our fore fathers stood on. I see our younger millennials confused while looking for direction and identity. Truth is POLARIZING. Truth becomes unpopular. Truth is hard to teach and harder to live out. The mainstream is not concerned about truth. Beware.

A great article on the dangers of democracy.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”John 8:31-32

Real truth is found in two places. One is the word of God and the other is reading history. History can be a powerful tool if it has not been corrupted by the author. God’s word is the best source for truth. That is a problem with today’s culture.

Sadly, millions of Christians would flunk the simplest of quizzes on what the bible actually says. I encourage Christians to know the bible as well as Muslims know the koran or Mormons know Joseph Smith’s Bible. (the book of Mormon).

I would ask you to snuggle up with a pillow, blanket and a cup of coffee a few times a week and read God’s word. Journal what you are learning as well as what’s confusing. There are countless tools that can help you. is one of my favorite.

Be careful believing what scholars tell you. Be careful what pastors tell you. Be careful what I tell you. As the bible tells us, “contrast everything against God’s word for man will fail you”.

The bottom line is this, getting truth is your responsibility. Once you get it, follow it and share it.

6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8and the two will become one flesh.’So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 10:6-9

I would like you to consider your marriage to be far more than just a relationship between you and your spouse. It acts like a vehicle that God wants to use in ways beyond your imagination. Together you are a powerful force to be reckoned with.

God didn’t put your spouse in your life just to irritate you, on the contrary.

God uses people to do His work. He has an army. If you believe in his son Jesus, you are a part of that army. If you don’t, you’re not. Through your marriage you can take the truth of the gospel to the nations. You can learn it, download it into your children and deliver it to those who will listen. (trust me, millions of people are looking for real answers to their problems).

Let God shape your marriage, let His truth fall into your heart and your mind. Let your marriage be a unified front of two soldiers willing to march to the front line of spiritual warfare. IF, Christians in America agreed to one mission, one cause and allowed their marriages to unify in one goal, we would be unstoppable.

You can make a difference. Start in your home and let it permeate from there. When your kids ask you about sex, drugs, lifestyles, marriage, divorce, love, hate and forgiveness be ready for answers. Teach them truth that lines up with God’s word. Build up your little soldiers for their future spouses and for our great nation.

The breakdown of marriages will be the fall of our country. As goes our marriages goes our families, our churches and our nations.

God built the power of marriage. He created the sanctity and the framework. He knows how much a child needs mom and dad. His truth will never change even though our culture will chip away at the foundation of marriage and family. The cost will be great. Let us hold on tightly to the ideals given to us by God. Let us fight hard for our marriages knowing very well that we represent far more than ‘happiness’ between two people. We represent legacy’s, callings, generations and God’s will.

In a world where truth is polarizing, stand firm. Do not be dismayed. Know truth, follow truth and let it set you free by living it out.

Be different.
